Kathleen Rodgers, MA, RD, CDE
Kathleen Rodgers has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from California State University, Long Beach. She has over 20 years of experience as a Licensed and Registered Dietitian in a variety of locations and professional settings. Furthermore, she has over 15 years of experience as a Certified Diabetes Educator, and is also a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics.
Kathleen’s diverse background began in acute and long-term care settings in California and the Metro DC area. She also has advised professional and amateur athletes at Metro Orthopedics and Sports Therapy in Maryland. More recently, she has been empowering patients to achieve their health and nutrition goals at the Northern Virginia Center for Oral, Facial, & Implant Surgery, and for over 15 years at General Internal Medicine Group in Virginia. Kathleen has also served as the Wellness Director for Trafficland.com. Additionally, she functioned as the lead dietitian on a large scale study at the University of Maryland that examined the relationship between genetics, exercise, and blood lipids.
As a certified insulin pump trainer, she has over 10 years of experience educating and guiding patients from the ages of two to 80+ on how to use and live with an insulin pump, helping them improve their quality of life and ability to manage the effects of diabetes.
Kathleen has volunteered with the Alzheimer’s Association National Capitol Area Chapter’s annual Tour de Canal bicycle ride on the C & O Canal for over 10 years and is a co-author of the Tour de Canal Rider Guide.
